Abbey Swift driver helps in delivering food parcels

They say not all heroes wear capes but we certainly have a super hero in our midst! We wanted to say a special thank you to one of our younger taxi drivers, Taleel for his outstanding efforts in helping his local community in Batley, Dewsbury and beyond.
Taleel has been a long-term volunteer with the Bramwell Sports Development Team, an organisation run by Tanisha Bramwell that has done some amazing work throughout the pandemic for the most vulnerable members of the local community around Kirklees.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with Taleel for many years now and have seen first-hand how often he has stood up selflessly to help those in need.
On this particular occasion, he volunteered his whole day helping deliver food parcels to the most vulnerable members of our community.
Once again, well done Taleel.
We’re proud to have you as a driver for Abbey Swift Taxis!

THE REAL COST OF COVID 💔

It’s heart breaking to see our local town in such dismay with businesses closed all over West Yorkshire, but then you see a picture like the one below and it all get’s real. 😷

At least 242 frontline NHS and social workers have succumbed to the pandemic with this figure rising daily and that’s on top of the tens of thousands of our families and friends.

Amongst those was Dr Nasir Khan who worked at the Dewsbury and District Hospital site.

Martin Barkley, Chief Executive of The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, said:

“We consider ourselves very fortunate to have had such a doctor as Dr Khan working for the Trust, and we are all devastated to learn of his death. It is impossible to put into words how much our hearts go out to his family and friends.

Stay safe guys and look out for one another, we’ve still got a way to go yet but we WILL come out of this…one day

News

We’re sad to be reporting this but unfortunately there were some serious incidents last night around Dewsbury, West Yorkshire where numerous Taxi drivers were attacked and robbed at Knifepoint.
A group of Thugs on Bikes were stopping Taxi drivers and then robbing them at Knifepoint!
There seemed to be a coordinated attack on Taxi drivers throughout the area and it’s shocking to see this kind of behavior in our Town.
PLEASE get in touch if you happened to see anything that might help us catch the Culprits!
As you can imagine, the Drivers are extremely shook up and it’s a real shame we have to be reporting this at this current time especially with everything else that is going on.

The last few months have been extremely tough for all Taxi Drivers and the last thing they need is to be worried about their safety at work.

Stay Extra Safe,

Adam Khan
